Language

These are flashcard "decks." I use Duolingo's Tinycards, which has many limitations, but I like the functions it does include. The way it's set up, sensible decks come in multiples of five. Mine are mostly limited to 15, for thematic purposes.

This is the pages I practice from (one of the things I don't like about Tinycards is the poor organization it has for anything more than a few decks). The order of the decks changes depending on what I'm personally working at.

And, yes, I consider my Tinycard decks to be a creative form, if not artwork (even if a minor one). To me, they are something between an illustrated poem and a learning device.

French
I started my Tinycard Deck obsession with French, when it seemed likely that in 2019 I would actually be able able to travel to France. That trip has not come off, but I still enjoy imagining myself rambling through the French countryside, lush in a summer maze of French flowers, plants, and animals that I now intrinsically know are not merely les fleurs, les plantes, et les animaux.

Ukrainian
I did not understand that Ukrainian is both a Slavic Language and a Romance Language until I started learning it. This knowledge continues to blow me away, largely because I have decent familiarity with three Romance languages and somehow, the idea of language structures moving across borders... never became part of my (modern) mental outlook. Looking at Ukraine's long border with Romania, and I both "get it" now, and find myself wondering about all the other mysterious and central ideas that I still do not know. My Ukrainian is rudimentary--and so are these decks!
