Soviet Postcard Art — Konstanin Aleksandrovich Andrianov (Константин Александрович Андрианов)
ANDRIANOV, Konstantin Aleksandrovich (1932-?) Palekh artist.
Andrianov Konstantin Aleksandrovich - painter of lacquer miniature. Born in 1932. Member of the Union of painters. Graduated from Palekh Art School in 1956. Graduated from Moscow Art-Industrial High School /former Stroganovskoe. His work can be seen in the Palekh Art Museum, the State Russian Museum, and the Art Foundation of the Russian Federation.
Andrianov produced work in classic Byzantine-influenced Palekh lacquerwork, along with drawings in the same style. He produced works that can be described as backward-looking in tone, with images of primitive Moroz figures and folk motifs such as Firebirds and Troikas, while simultaneously introducing what now seem like anachronistic insertions such as Yuri Gagarin portrait figures and other overtly Soviet-celebratory motifs.
